Do you desire to help others gain and maintain good health? Do you want to see your
family and friends live a healthy life? Are you interested in pursuing the health industry
as a career? If you answered yes to these questions, there are opportunities available right
now.
We know that it is God’s will that we prosper and be in health. He says “Beloved, I pray
that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul [mine, will & emotions) prospers.”
In the natural, we have received the understanding that diet, exercise, and nutritional
supplements are very important in gaining and maintaining good health. Unity in the
Community is dedicated to getting health information to those who really care about people
and want to help them stay healthy.
Here’s how you can apply to prepare yourself for a career in health service. We offer you
the opportunity through our partnership, to receive teaching and training as a Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide (CNA/HHA) Practical Nurse/Vocational Nursing (LVN).
Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide (CNA/HHA)
Practical Nurse/Vocational Nursing (LVN)
This combined health program prepares students for the State Competence Exam.
Upon passing the state exam, the graduates are eligible to receive two certificates,
Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aid. Topics include legal issues
affecting patient, resident and client care. Various diseases and conditions are
introduced. Medical aspects and infection control techniques are developed and
practiced. Techniques for enhanced communication and interpersonal skills are
taught. Students secure clinical training at a local hospital, primarily in the long-term care of the elderly.
Students are prepared clinically in health care facilities, supervised by the instructor
and staff members. Upon completion of the course, the graduate may take the California
State Board of Vocational Nursing Exam. Passing the examination allows a person to
work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or
Physician. Courses include:
