The Personality of the Holy Spirit

Acts 28:25
He Speaks
The Jews, unable to agree among themselves, left after Paul had quoted this particular passage to them: How well the Holy Spirit spoke to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah!  GWF
John 14:26
He Teaches
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things.  And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.  AMP
Genesis 6:3
Strives with Sinners
Then Jehovah said, “My Spirit must not forever be disgraced in man, wholly evil as he is.  I will give him 120 years to mend his ways.”  LB
Acts 9:31
He Comforts
Meanwhile, the church had peace throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria, and grew in strength and numbers.  The believers learned how to walk in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.  LB
Romans 8:26
He Intercedes for Believers
So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groaning too deep for utterance.  AMP
Ephesians 4:30
Can be Grieved
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin).  AMP
Acts 7:51
Can be Resisted
You stiff-necked heathen!  Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit?  But your fathers did, and so do you!  LB
Job 33: 4
He Creates
It is the Spirit of God that made me [which has stirred me up], and the breath of the Almighty that gives me life [which inspires me].   AMP
Isaiah 32:15
He Renews
Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is valued as a forest.  AMP
Titus 3:5-7
He Regenerates and He Renews
He saved us, but not because of anything we had done to gain his approval.  Instead, because of his mercy he saved us through the washing in which the Holy Spirit gives us new birth and renewal; God poured a generous amount of the Spirit on us through Jesus Christ our Savior.  As a result, God in His kindness has given us his approval and we have become heirs who have the confidence that we have everlasting life.  GWF
II Chronicles 36:22
Stirs up King Cyrus
But in the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus to make this proclamation throughout his kingdom, putting it into writing: “All the kingdoms of the earth have been given to me by the Lord God of heaven, and he has instructed me to build him a Temple in Jerusalem, in the land of Judah.  All among you, who are the Lord’s people, return to Israel for this task, and the Lord be with you.”  This also fulfilled the prediction of Jeremiah the prophet.

The Work of the Holy Spirit in Christ's Life & Ministry

The Holy Bible declares that everything we do should be done with the help of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  In the Old Testament, we see that the prophets of old knew and depended upon the Holy Spirit when they spoke God’s Word and declared His justice and judgments.  And in the New Testament, we constantly see that Jesus was also totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus left us His example to follow in seeking the help of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  This is how the Holy Spirit worked in and through His life and ministry:
Jesus, Child of the Holy Spirit
Jesus was conceived when the Holy Spirit came upon Mary
Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit
Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit
Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit
Jesus taught in the power of the Holy Spirit
Jesus offered Himself to God by the Holy Spirit
Jesus was resurrected by the Holy Spirit
Jesus’ instructions to the disciples were by the Holy Spirit
Jesus will judge the world by the Holy Spirit
Jesus lived  the ultimate godly life, depending on the Holy Spirit
Jesus performed miracles by the Holy Spirit
Matthew 1:18
Luke 1:35
Luke 3:21-22
Luke 4:14

Luke 4:1
John 3:34, John 6:63
Hebrews 9:15
Romans 1:4
Acts 1:1-2
II Thessalonians 2:8
Zachariah 4:6
Matthew 12:28
Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit in the Gospel of John.  Jesus said:
He (the Holy Spirit) shall speak of Me (Jesus)
I (Jesus) will send Him (the Holy Spirit) unto you
He (the Holy Spirit) shall glorify Me (Jesus)
He (the Holy Spirit) shall not speak of Himself
John 15:26
John 16:7
John 16:14
John 16:13
If Jesus depended upon the Holy Spirit in conception, anointing, guidance, empowerment, teaching, death, resurrection, instruction, and judgment we certainly need to depend upon the Holy Spirit for our life and ministry.
