Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Pray this Prayer Aloud:
Heavenly Father, I am saved by the Blood of Jesus.  I am Your child and You are my Father. Jesus is my Lord and Saviour.  I believe with my whole heart that Your Word is true.  The Bible says that if I will ask, I will receive the Holy Spirit.  So in the Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, I am asking You to fill me to overflowing with Your precious Holy Spirit.  Jesus, baptize me in the Holy Spirit right now.  Because of Your Word, I believe that I now receive and I thank You.  I believe the Holy Spirit is within me and, by faith, I accept Him.  Now, Holy Spirit, rise up within me as I praise my God.  I fully expect to speak with other tongues, as You give me the utterance.

Instructions on How to Receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit:

  • You must pray aloud
  • Open your mouth and start praising the Lord

Ask the Holy Spirit to take charge of your tongue, then yield your tongue to His care.  You cannot speak in your own language and tongues at the same time, just as you cannot speak in English and French at the same time.  When your voice and tongue begin forming syllables around the expression that your heart (spirit) desires to release, you will also speak in tongues It will be your tongue, your breath, your vocal cords and you will be actively forming words.  You will supply the sounds, but the Holy Spirit will supply the words – words unknown to you.  It may seem awkward to you at first, but continue.  Like a child learning to speak, you will Grow.  Speak and hear the Holy Spirit speaking through you.

When you follow the above instructions, you need not wait to get a word from God about it - you already have His Word – nor do you need to wait around for the Spirit.  You have read the Scripture Verses concerning it and the Holy Spirit is here now.  The Holy Spirit of God entered His ministry on the Day of Pentecost and He has been here ever since.  He has never left!

Praise the Lord!  Rejoice!  You have just been Baptized in the Holy Spirit!  You have been endued with power to help you do your God ordained ministry – Hallelujah, Jesus.  God bless you.  Now practice your heavenly language a half hour daily, (then increase to an hour.)

What are Spiritual Gifts?

A spiritual gift is a supernatural ability given by the Holy Spirit to a believer to minister as part of the Body of Christ.  The “Gift” of the Holy Spirit took place on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2) when the Holy Spirit came in answer to the promise of Jesus, “Gifts” of the Holy Spirit are supernatural abilities the Holy Spirit gives believers to enable effective ministry (Luke 16:20).

The Difference Between Spiritual Gifts and Natural Talents:

A talent is a natural ability one receives at birth or develops through training.
A Spiritual Gift is a supernatural ability which did not come by inheritance or training.  It is Given by the Holy Spirit.

Examples of Natural Talents:

Genesis 4:21
Genesis 4:22

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Gifts are the spiritual senses of the Church.  In the natural world, we function according to our five physical senses.  In the spiritual world, we function according to the nine Gifts of The Holy Spirit – the “Spiritual Senses” that enable us to function properly.
